Paint Coverage Rates and Real-World Consumption
Coverage is normally stated for one coat on a prepared surface. A rough or absorbent wall uses more paint, and a strong colour change may require another coat. Primer can reduce uneven absorption but it does not replace proper preparation. Record actual use on the first room to improve the estimate for the next.
Worked example
13.5 m² × 2 × 1.10 / (10 m²/l) = 2.97 l
