What to check

This calculation uses: Length, Width, Roll width, Waste allowance. It returns: Area, Cut lengths, Total length.

Record room dimensions in the intended direction of the carpet seams. A different orientation can change both the number of strips and the purchased roll length.

The tool divides room width by available roll width, rounds up the strip count and multiplies that count by room length before applying the allowance.

The linear result describes length cut from the selected roll width. It is not the same as simply buying the room area in square metres.

Check pattern direction, seam positions and door transitions before ordering. A rotated layout may use less area but create an unacceptable seam.

Use the units beside each field. The values in the worked example are starting inputs; replace them with your measurements and the specifications of your material.
