What to check
This calculation uses: Length, Width, Coverage per pack, Waste allowance. It returns: Area, Area with allowance, Whole packages.
Measure each floor zone to the wall line where the finish will actually stop. Treat alcoves and connected spaces separately when the board direction changes.
The room area is length multiplied by width. The allowance is applied to that area, then the adjusted area is divided by the coverage printed on one pack.
Whole packs matter more than a rounded square-metre figure. Check whether the pack coverage is nominal or usable and whether opened packs can be returned.
Do not assume all offcuts fit the next row. Board length, stagger rules and narrow end pieces determine how much material can be reused.
Use the units beside each field. The values in the worked example are starting inputs; replace them with your measurements and the specifications of your material.
