How Much Material Waste Should You Add?
Waste is not a fixed percentage for every job. A simple rectangular floor with straight boards needs less than a diagonal tile pattern or a roof with several valleys. Separate unavoidable geometric cuts from careless handling. Keep a few matching pieces for later repairs when batches can vary.

20 m² × 1.08 = 21.6 m²; ceil(21.6 / 2.2) = 10
